To the Hungryroot community:

We founded Hungryroot two years ago in an effort to make wholesome foods craveable and accessible to everyone. That mission stands strong today. Each morning, our team of dedicated employees wakes up eager to positively impact consumers lives by delivering uniquely delicious, nutritious food. Because of those efforts, we are now shipping over a million Hungryroot items across the country each year.

Since our founding, we’ve been proud to make our products at our small kitchen in Queens, New York. Knowing that we would eventually outgrow that facility, we started looking for our next home a few months ago. This process has been more challenging and is taking longer than we anticipated. We are a small, lean team, and we underestimated the complexity of moving our operation and finding partners that would meet our quality standards.

Thanks to your support, we have now outgrown our original kitchen. So for the next 3-5 months, we are going to pause customer shipments and focus on finding and setting up our new home. We feel bad that we are not able to deliver our food for the next couple months. But we also feel that we owe it to you to spend the time to handle this transition correctly. Moreover, when we resume shipments, we’re going to have a wider variety of new, convenient and craveable items (take our survey to vote for the ones you’d like!), and we’ll be able to incorporate your feedback and suggestions more easily to provide the best possible customer experience.

Of utmost importance to our team has always been to maintain high product standards and to remain aligned with our core values of being positive, proactive and transparent. We think this sets us apart, and we are proud that this decision upholds those values and principles.

We look forward to serving you again soon. Please keep in touch in the meantime. Check out our blog for recipes and healthy tips, and feel free to drop us a note at or by simply replying to this email.

With gratitude,

Ben McKean
